Spider Vein Treatment
An estimated 1/3 of American women have some degree of spider veins. Also known as telangiectasias, they are red, blue or purple veins that lie in or immediately below the skin surface and are commonly found on the thighs, calves and ankles.
Cosmetic or Medical?
That is the question! If you have underlying medical venous problems, you may need more htan a cosmetic treatment to see lasting improvement. Most insurance companies will cover these medical conditions. Some of the signs of veins that are covered by insurance include: sever symptoms, any vein that bulges or protrudes through the skin, certain larger Blue or green veins seen through the skin and positive diagnostic studies.
Cosmetic spider veins, typically do not bulge through the skin, do not cause severe symptoms, such as aching, swelling or extreme tiredness. Also, those people who have had repeated cosmetic treatments without lasting results, may be in the medical category, as well. At Spa Medical, we will make syre that your condition is truly cosmetic in nature before you invest in treatments.
