What To Consider Before Booking Your Treatment
It’s important to realize that cheaper does not always equal better – and the same treatment at different offices does not equal the same result. When you find multiple medical spas that offer the services and technology you’re interested in, there are some things to keep in mind when considering where to book your first appointment.
If you are interested in a specific procedure or device, it is likely that if you call around, you will find that most offices charge the same range for that treatment. However, you are bound to find outliers that offer it either at a much lower or higher cost. If you find an outlier, here is what you should consider:
- How long is the appointment? Am I paying more (or less) because I am getting a longer or shorter appointment? What experience am I agreeing to if I accept a shorter appointment? What is the standard length for this treatment?
- Will I be experiencing a full treatment or does this treatment leave out some of the benefits or areas I wish to address? Is this a package or just one session?
- Are there add-ons included in this price?
- Is my provider experienced in the treatment being offered or are they new to the industry?
- Is this a treatment that this office specializes in and has a reputation for?
- Does the office providing the treatment have other amenities available to patients? Am I paying for a “no frills” experience?
We understand that as a patient, the factors to consider can feel overwhelming. You may want, for example, a Botox treatment, but have very little time to do the research required to feel confident about the questions above. So instead of focusing on having all of these questions answered, there are several things you can do to have answers to your questions without spending hours researching.
Google Reviews
Often the practices that offer the BEST treatments will have plenty of Google reviews that detail the experience you are interested in. While Google tends to display the practices closest to you, they also will rank them in terms of the reviews available. Be cautious of the practices that have tons of Google reviews without a single negative one. Practices are bound to have negative feedback but how they address it matters. The more detailed the review is, the better.
Before and Afters
Does the practice have plenty of before and afters to help you understand what you can realistically expect from your treatment? Do they have an archive of each treatment with results for each treatment? Be wary of practices that use stock photos or before and after photos provided by the manufacturer. These before and afters speak to the work of the device but not necessarily the provider you will see.
Providers/Experience
Does the practice have information available on the provider who will be doing your treatment? Can you put a face to the name of the person providing your service? It’s important that the person performing your service is not only qualified to do so but also has contact information available in case any complications occur. The last thing you want is for your provider to be MIA when you experience an issue or have a follow-up question.
Personal Recommendations
Do you have friends or family that you know and trust who use this practice? Having a friend share their experience with you can build confidence in your experience before you walk through the door. And when in doubt, use the recommendation of an anonymous friend on Google using reviews!
